Er, I think there's a distinct difference between liking a character and being appreciative of their complexity or the writing that went into them. Like, I really, really hate Asuka because I find her to be an annoying character to watch, but I do appreciate the fact that she is a complicated character with a heart-wrenching past but that does not mean I have to like her as an individual.

101. Wouldn't go quite that far, but yes. SMRPG had some incredible music, and still one of my favorite VG soundtracks. <3

135. Despise is a strong word, but I definitely didn't like Asuka, even after we found out her backstory. Yes, I feel bad for what happened to her, yes, I would want to get her help. However what I don't like is how very bitchy and arrogant she is; I don't think anyone's history can ever be an excuse.

Then again. I haven't seen EVA since I was 13 or so, so maybe I don't remember things all that well but she just came up as incredibly rude and abrasive to me.

However, I will say at the very end of the series I felt horrible for her. No one should have to go through that..mind rape, or whatever it was that happened to her e_e;
