oh dear! you've never had mayple syrup!? D:>

one can you it in tea, or maybe on ham, but traditionally it's used as a topping for Pan-Cakes or Waffles. I hightly recommend trying it. :) Though try to avoid "imatation" maple syrup, its cheaper, but not as pure in taste. The very best comes from Quebec.

*apperently I'm an expert on Maple Syrup cause i'm Canadian? wut? lol*

Also, if you ever happen to be in Eastern Canada during the winter, try to visit a Sugar Bush, where they produce Maple Syrup. Trust me, nothing is better than Frozen Maple Syrup on stick! ^.^

Sadly I live in the darker depths of Europe, and maple syrup is not very well-known over here, at least as far as I know (I haven't really looked for it). But I think I'll definitely try it in the near future. :D It already sounds delicious.

I have to jump in here and say, yeah, putting it in your tea is probably not a good idea. It has a distinctive taste that will most likely clash with the tea.

But on pancakes, waffles, or (my favorite) bacon? YUM. If you have sweet potatoes where you are (I don't know if they are only a North and South American food?), you can also drizzle maple syrup on top of baked or mashed sweet potatoes (with a little brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon...YUM).

On bacon? Wow... I don't eat much pork but I'll have to try that. And that sweet potatoes recipe sounds great! ...that's it, tomorrow I'm going to try to find some real maple syrup somewhere. (And sweet potatoes. They're not very popular here either. :/ I love them, though.)

The best is when you've got a big breakfast of pancakes (or waffles), bacon or sausage, and scrambled eggs, and you put the syrup on the pancakes (or waffles) and it runs off and pools around the meat and the eggs and you take a bite of egg and there's just a hint of syrup about them and it's this wonderful mild salty-sweet combination and this thread has made me remember the bottle of syrup in my fridge; brb making scrambled eggs.
