Fandom is very young (and, it appears, dumb) these days and it's terribly depressing. All these minute-long fancam vids, and saying "valid" and "you have rights"...I feel so ancient and isolated.

Young people use "rights" for a lot of things that... aren't rights. I'm feeling my years too, anon.

I'm not even entirely sure fandom is still 'fandom' these days; it's growing increasingly rare to find blogs that stick to a particular media or hobby and don't wander off to faux political think pieces or opinions wholly unrelated.

People using rights as a meme makes me want to punt them back in time to the days when they wouldn't have had any.

Not forever- just long enough for them to learn their lesson, since history class isn't doing its job.
