if i am rereading it soon enough after writing it that i remember wtf i wrote, then i am only bothering to read it so i can edit it. but i'll reread it a handful of times, on different days, in different weather, etc, in order to do so.

but i also have shit memory lmao so sometimes it only needs to be half a year until i completely forget what i wrote. when that's the case i'll reread it and just be thoroughly entertained because surprise ! i know how to hit all my fav shit in junk that i write myself!!!

You find the weather makes a difference to how you perceive it? Asking because my editing skills are lacking and i'm looking for tips to improve.

haha i mean sometimes it literally does! for instance i live in the desert, so if it's raining you bet it changes the whole atmosphere of the entire town.

but i mostly meant that just to imply like. if i am in a different mood i will read my writing in a different way. i tend to find myself writing late at night, after a long work day. so i'll be rly tired and probably not censor myself as much bc i am just trying to relax and have fun. which is helpful content wise, or flow wise. but can be pretty sloppy technically haha. but then if i write in the morning it's different, too.

so i'll reread my stuff the next day. then maybe move on to another project in the mean time but still reread it again in a week or two. stuff like that. you start to find your own rhythm and learn what is helpful for you once you start experimenting i guess!
