Re: Secrets you don't want to make...
(Anonymous) 2020-08-18 06:18 am (UTC)(link)1) There’s nothing wrong with actually fantasising about them. The problems with RPF come when you either lose the plot and start to believe it or you start sending your fic to the people in question. So why not write it and not post it? Alternatively you could post it and lock it down tight.
2) acknowledge that you like their dynamic and write an original fiction based on it.
Re: Secrets you don't want to make...
(Anonymous) 2020-08-18 03:50 pm (UTC)(link)Your second suggestion is what I'm doing. There are two "celebrity" BFFs that I kind of ship, but one of them seems like a bit of a jerk TBH, although I really like their dynamic overall. The whole RPF thing weirds me out a bit, plus I'm not interested in trying to write the one guy's personality the way it comes across to me (several people who've worked with him have said he's a great guy and I have no *actual* evidence for him being a jerk, but the things he says just kind of rub me the wrong way sometimes).
Anyway, my solution is to just take the aspects of their dynamic that I really love and write original fic/OCs who have that sort of dynamic.
