There are so many ways to make a movie about the exploitation of young girls and women without exploiting young girls and women's bodies.

They weren't being "exploited". Fuck off.

Only on Fandomsecrets could I see people defend that abhorrent Netflix poster. Jesus fucking Christ.

(Anonymous) 2020-08-29 05:02 am (UTC)(link)
No one's defending the POSTER.

Literally the OP is saying it's not Netflix's fault people can't understand context, when it's fucking Netflix that's responsible for that original poster.

DA - Go back. Read the secret again. OP is literally blaming Netflix. They're saying it's not the film's fault that Netflix completely failed to market said film appropriately.

NAYRT: It's been widely reported that the Netflix marketing of the movie was both extremely exploitative and misleading about the actual content of the movie. And the result has been calls to ban a movie and blacklist the director for views that are the exact opposite of what was expressed in the actual film.

Nobody is defending the poster. The poster does not appear to be remotely representative of the film. This isn't complicated.
