With regards to stuff like calling Janet Reno or James Lipton ugly, I mean, I think it's just being crass and that's OK. It's certainly impolite but I don't think it crosses any kind of moral event horizon, it's just a matter of taste whether you like it or not. Crass and vulgar and rude isn't inherently a bad thing for entertainment to be.

And with regards to the rest of it... I mean, the song that it's responding to opens with the HIV gag. It seems pretty straightforward to me that if people don't have problems with the original, they shouldn't have problems with the response. Turnabout is fair play. And most people who like this kind of thing, AFAIK, didn't have big objections to the original.

I don't think you're the woke police - I mean, I think it is true that sometimes things attempting to be vulgar and crass do cross the line. And obviously, you don't have to like this song; maybe it's just not for you. But I just don't think this specific song is a problem.

If I remember correctly, Diego got out of the revenge mindset when he was beating up Cha-Cha last season because Patch wouldn’t have wanted him to be consumed by revenge. What I can’t believe is that we didn’t get Allison coping with not having Claire with her, but maybe there wasn’t enough screen time for that.

I really liked those scenes where Vanya got to have something resembling a normal life, but as much as I wanted to like her and Sissy together, I just wasn’t into it. I loved watching her bond with her siblings though. Those were my favorite bits of season two.

I encourage everyone canceling this film before it even releases to please read some reviews from people who saw it at Sundance in January. This was Netflix America’s f*ckup, not the film itself’s. The movie itself condemns the sexualization and adultification of young girls (especially women of color) by presenting the issue in a blunt and uncomfortable manner: that’s the whole point. The core message of the movie is that we as a society must protect our youth and allow them to be what they are: children. It criticizes a culture that pushes young girls to hypersexualization with its oppressive conservatism and repulsion of sex.
