I think there are ways to enjoy holidays without creating a lot of waste in your own home, even if it is difficult at times because the government won't restrict production or import of single-use plastic items.

Pumpkins biodegrade. Decorations can be stored and reused.

I don't think my country can look down on America. We aren't doing better. There are small local initiatives and some legislation in individual states but not enough effort federally.
