The social repercussions of every book except the Bible bursting into flames might not be worth saving it though. Imagine all the incredibly shitty people that would feel empowered by that and use it as an excuse to do even shittier things. (I don't mean "Christians in general," I mean extremists here)

I guess they just wanted to respond, not discuss their response? Idk I find the idea fascinating as a post-apoc book-burning kind of situation. Only one religious book remains. How does humanity react? Probably not well, as it doesn't react well to things like this

That would be an even more interesting hypothetic situation imo. Who is this mystery child Bible reader? A prophet? Would people try to find the voice match? Imagine the results!
