(Anonymous) 2020-09-10 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)I'm remembering when TROS came out and someone asked, "Okay, I've only seen TFA and am only in this series for Finn. Does he get a big role in TROS" and a bunch of F_FA anons were like, "Yes! He has a great role in TROS!" and I felt like I was in upside-down land. I honestly can't understand why you would tell someone who just watched TFA that Finn ended up having a great role in the third movie. Just... why.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-11 05:45 am (UTC)(link)However, I think Finn ended up being completely pointless. His stormtrooper past meant absolutely nothing. His Force sensitivity was treated as a joke (and because TROS said that only Force sensitive stormtroopers could break their conditioning, it also made the Force insanely cruel in regards to all those kidnapped, brainwashed child soldiers). He regressed to early TFA behavior in following Rey around again. Finn was supposed to be a lead character and JJ Abrams and Chris Terrio had no idea what to do with him.
