(Anonymous) 2007-03-16 03:06 am (UTC)(link)And I love how people who express a differing opinion automatically get labeled as trolls.
You don't know me, I don't know you, and I'd like to keep it that way. So I'll stay anonymous, thanks.

If you're skimming people's comments and then getting snide over them it would do you well to actually read them. kthxbye.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-16 04:34 am (UTC)(link)Besides, people who aren't BNFs get attacked by anonymouses also. Have anything snide to say in response to those sorts of posts?

Okay, this is quite enough. I'm not here to start fights with people so kindly just move along. The entire secret was in a bit of bad taste because of where it went. This isn't the first time secrets 'bashing' BNFs have caused issues. I don't know any BNF who bitched about being admired or liked, however a lot of fans are idiots who think that they can somehow 'get' something from these people by kissing their ass. And likewise you have the people who are always out to turn it into some type of competition because they're not considered a BNF.
I've had my share of complete dumbasses email me for cosplay tips and while I used to reply to each one very nicely after people start leaving emails that read, 'Yeah, I want to cosplay Rufus Shinra but I have no idea what his outfit really looks like so would you mind laying out your costume and taking pictures of each individual piece and sending them to me?' it gets old. Stupid people will argue with BNFs or pick petty fights with them over nothing.
I've had some fans do some really stupid stuff in the past thinking they were somehow getting on my good side by doing it. Running around posting my cosplay pictures on sites to show how 'good' it was and it just comes back to bite me in the ass because they did it to begin with.
You really just seem like you're out to get a rise out of someone tonight and that's pathetically stupid so just move along. It used to be all fun and games here. This place has become increasingly worse in recent weeks because of people like you.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-16 06:19 am (UTC)(link)......AND ONCE AGAIN, A POINT DISPROVEN BY ITS OWN SENTENCE. (I'm different from all the other anons, btw, except for the other point-disproven one.)
Seriously, though, you're just doing damage to yourself by making bitchy posts like this. :/ I too personally know a few BNFs, some of which are INCREDIBLY nice, and I think the true difference between a nice BNF and a bitchy BNF? Is that the nice ones don't assume they are one.
You already broke that rule, unfortunately, and as someone who's been in your fandom for a while, you really... AREN'T such a big name fan. More like a medium name fan. And about fans? Dude. They love you. Appreciate it.
Le sigh.

I didn't really assume I was one to begin with as it is. I was talking from a generalized perspective here. Someone else referred to me as one in a previous post and maybe that's their opinion, personally I'm just a fan who's not even active in fandom these days as it is, so I really don't care either way.
I was stating this behaviour does in fact bug BNFs, however that doesn't mean they go around bitching and whining about everyone who likes them. I love 90% of my fans, but there are annoying people out there who do in fact bother us.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-16 06:43 am (UTC)(link)You made the case that BNFs have a lot of issues they have to deal with. Then, you presented some examples from your own fandom life to support that claim. Thus, you were implying you are a BNF.
I'll grant you that it's true about a small percentage of fans getting annoying, and if I were in your position, I'd probably feel the same way. However, I wouldn't talk about them being annoying publicly, or at least not so abrasively, but maybe I feel that way for the same reason I'm commenting anonymously. :/

I didn't want this to begin with. -_-
The example I was trying to make is we all have fans who are annoying, BNFs on a much larger scale. If mines are even a fraction of what they get it has to be annoying and yes some of the BNFs I am friends with do relay thist stuff back to me to support this. I wasn't implying I was a BNF. If I was, I wouldn't even know it because I am so clueless about fandom these days. In fact, as far as FFVII goes I'd rather not even be associated with it these days at all.
I've had a good deal of people in the past make my online life hell for dragging me into stuff I wasn't even connected to and I've heard some interesting rumours.
You needn't comment anonymously. I'm 90% sure who you are to begin with and it's your opinion and that's fine. This whole thing seems to be a lot of miscommunication from the start.

(Anonymous) 2007-03-16 06:09 am (UTC)(link)...........Um. Wow. Great way to disprove your own point in the exact same sentence you're making it in. XD

I think they were referring to the FFVII fandom ... not my fans. I have no idea. -_-
