I think 'unreasonably angry' is right, since this person has every right (especially now, in a time when people are being laid off, fired, etc.) to make some money off of their writing. And they're not getting paid for fanfic that's ripping off the original author - it's their own original work, now, just like the Twilight stuff and etc.

So, you know, maybe chill.

Really, the first story was described as AU to the point of being nearly unrecognizable and the characters bore little resemblance to canon, so yeah, it's pretty much an original work. I can see being bummed at the situation but I don't think this author is really doing anything wrong.
