I feel this way about a lot of ships. Like when I watched Madoka Magica and everyone was saying how Madoka and Homura were basically canon and I just couldn't see what everyone was seeing. Same with Dean and Cas on Supernatural, which I did end up shipping, but on screen, it doesn't read canon, no matter how many times people post gifs about them staring at each other.
