I don't think you should be so hard on yourself, OP. It's okay and we all make mistakes. I love both subs and dubs. I like subtitles even if what I'm watching is in a language I speak because it helps me comprehend the show better. I get really annoyed when a show either doesn't have subtitles or, if it has subtitles, the subtitles don't match the language I'm watching. Anime does this a lot where they'll only have subtitles for the sub and not the dub, which drives me nuts because I want subtitles for the dub too. Or there'll be an issue where the subtitles for the English dub are included, but for whatever reason, they don't work and the subs default to the ones for the Japanese audio option. All three seasons of Sailor Moon Crystal have this problem and I never got any response back when I wrote to Viz about it.
