Aww, she just died. D:

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
I’d like to think she went out cackling with two middle fingers in the air, like Lady Olenna.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 01:54 am (UTC)(link)
Bet she did!

I haven't watched them in a long long time, but I remember that they were fantastic. Also that the finale broke my little shipper heart.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
They were fantastic. :D

And that final scene breaks me every time I watch it. :(

(Anonymous) 2020-09-15 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
They had such style.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-15 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
I love them both so much. Mrs. Peel for being smart and stylish and clever, and Steed for being a peak example of nontoxic masculinity. <3

I think they are overrated by people who claim any of them are amazing movies with deep and/or important stories. Yes this includes things like the Dark Knight Trilogy, Joker, and anything else. Those are all still superhero movies, the same as any other.

But they are good at what they do, some of them (which ones are which depends on who you ask, we all have our opinions). They are enjoyable to watch. They have fun characters that we can care about doing things we can root for. They have entertaining plots. They don't have to be anything else, and there is nothing wrong with being just that. Pure entertainment is a value all its own.

What show is this?

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
I understand the show is called the Avengers, but googling was not helping me at all.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 01:56 am (UTC)(link)
Add British spies or something. Or 1960s tv. It's also my preferred Avengers by far.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
can definitely see how googling "Avengers" in the year of our lord 2020 would not yield results for a british tv show from the 1960s. more help less attitude, people.

Funny, when I googled it the Wikipedia entry for the 1961 show was the 3rd or 4th result.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Searched 'Avengers.' The 60s series was the 4th result on Ecosia, 5th result on DuckDuck Go.

More bare minimum effort less lazy as fuck, anon.

Don't be an asshole about this, jesus

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 05:15 am (UTC)(link)

The Avengers was a British spy-fi show back in the 1960's. This promo was made for American audiences to explain exactly what the show was like. Lots of class and lots and lots of fun.

Aww, Nonny, I made almost this same secret when the first Avengers (super heroes) movie came out.

Also, I still want to grow up and be Diana Rigg. Or Emma Peel.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 03:44 pm (UTC)(link)
It really warms my heart to know that this show means just as much to other people as it does to me. :)

Emma Peel/Diana Rigg has always been and will always be one of the biggest role models in my life. I can only hope to be a fraction as awesome as she was.

Not being particularly into superheroes, I got super excited when I heard people talking about an Avengers movie. Then I found out that they didn't mean *the* Avengers. I was as almost as disappointed as when I realised they were talking about Lucy Liu and not Lucy Lawless when Elementary was announced.

I think Kingsmen has come closest to what I want from an Avengers film, it just needed Emma Peel.

(We don't talk about /that/ Avengers film )

(Anonymous) 2020-09-16 10:59 am (UTC)(link)
I was in grad school when /that/ Avengers film came out and I was so stressed or something that it hit the spot. I laughed my ass off at the teddy bears. Repeatedly. A d I still like it better than some of the MCU Avengers movies.

I never said I had any taste.

Thank you secret maker. This secret was perfect.

I'm so happy to discover that so many people share the same love for this show that I do. :)
