Honestly, I think there's something kind of adorable about a person worrying people might think you are gay rather than just assuming you are gay.

It's less adorable when you realize that they're warning OP because they think that being mistaken for gay is a bad thing.

I don't think homophobia has ever really struck me as adorable.

Good for a laugh, I guess, maybe, under the right circumstances. But adorable is not a word I'd use.

I don't understand. What's so adorable about homophobia? Because that's homophobia.

I would expect homophobia to be more likely manifest as the person assuming Anon is gay and being uncool about it, rather defaulting to the assumption Anon is straight but oblivious to the signals they are potentially sending. I've never had anyone tell me people might think I'm gay because of X, Y, or Z, but I've had plenty of people assume I'm a lesbian and be nasty about it over completely innocuous things like wearing a tank top putting my hair up (I think most of those people were drunk, but still).

What makes it fun when people assume I'm straight is when other gay people assume it too and don't believe me when I say otherwise.

Honestly I'm use to it by now, but it sucks when straight and fellow queer people don't take me seriously unless I can 'prove it'.
