Kung Fu (the 1970s TV series that made David Carradine famous) was also this

but was it a straight up "Asian martial artist finds himself in Ye Olde West" scenario? I know of the series and Carradine but I feel like, probably not the same thing. and idk if a quick wiki will answer that for me.

Yep, Carradine's character is half Asian, born in Asia, trained as a martial artist, and the series is about him wandering around the late 19th century American Old West with cowboys and all.
