Re: Controversial Unpopular Opinions?

A writer I liked in Fandom A abandoned all their works in that fandom and moved to Fandom B (they even deleted one work, which I am genuinely infuriated by). They've written twice as many fics for the new fandom as for the old.

And not one! Not ONE! of the new fics! has as many kudos or hits! as the old fics!

This fills me with a terrible spiteful glee which I will never share off anon with anyone ever

I think that's understandable. If Fandom A was something I really loved, I'd probably feel the same way.

Did they say why they abandoned fandom A? Someone whose work I was really fond of moved fandoms from my main fandom to one that I'm not interested in, a few months back, and although I'm disappointed that they aren't planning to write any more for my main fandom, they did explain why they were moving fandoms and I can't blame them really. As they put it, they need a certain type of experience in their fandom life to find it fulfilling and enjoyable and my main fandom has shifted to being a different kind of experience than that a lot of the time, whereas their new fandom is all about that kind of experience.

"And not one! Not ONE! of the new fics! has as many kudos or hits! as the old fics!"
OT but whenever somebody uses exclamation points this way I hear it in Bill Shatner's voice, hehe
