Well I don't know where I fit on this scale, but my AO3 interaction usually follows a pattern that progresses the more time I'm in a fandom:

- I search by kudos and read the top rated ones that interest me
- Any stand out authors I usually check out their dashboards and read the rest of their stuff for the fandom
- Any bookmarks those authors have saved I check out
- Any stand out authors from THOSE I check out their profiles
- Rinse and repeat
- Once I've exhausted that, I start just checking in daily to see what's been uploaded and read anything new that interests me
