I ship guys because I have a ton of body issues and reading about female anatomy in sex scenes is extremely uncomfortable for me, and has been ever since I started out in fandom.

Unapologetic about it. That's just how I roll.

ooooof. that punched me right in the gut.

I'm a transman and exclusively interested in dick, so I'm seeing myself here...not wanting any descriptions of female anatomy in my personal space. I'm sure it's important to some people to have loving and accurate descriptions of women in smut and fluff but...yeah I can't. that's actually a hard no because of my dysphoria.

AYRT I hear ya, anon. It's almost painful to have that intrusion, isn't it?

I'm a cis woman but I've been through some stuff. I much prefer M/M because it feels like safe romance for me. If that makes any sense.

Trans man here as well and I struggle with this as well, to the point where I have difficulty even reading fic featuring other trans man characters. It's so uncomfortable for me and I've been really trying to get over that particular hump but it's just not happening. :/

Saaaaaame. I can sometimes enjoy m/f, but generally I'm just happier if there's not chance I'm going to imagine myself in the scene, because I hate my body and I don't like thinking about it too much.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-21 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
Why... would you imagine yourself in the scene?

(Anonymous) 2020-09-21 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
If there is genitalia in the scene similar to my own, I might start thinking about my genitalia. I don't like thinking about my genitalia. If it's all dicks, I don't worry.

Are you a troll, or an alien experiencing their first day among the humans? Because if you're seriously asking this question, you can't have been here long.

(Anonymous) 2020-09-21 02:12 am (UTC)(link)
I'm asking seriously because I don't understand. I read fic because I want to read about those two specific characters getting it on, not because I personally want to bang either of them.

It's how fantasy works for many people. Some people mentally experience the things they are reading by proxy and identify with one of the characters or roles, while others are more observers of the action.

See, that's just weird to me. If I want to fantasize about fucking a character, I'll just fantasize about fucking that character. I don't need some other character to serve as a stand-in for me because that's just weird and needlessly complicated.
