AYRT No one else jumped to the assumption that we were incapable of understanding the difference between our own niece/daughter/grand daughter's interests and stuff she's picked up. I think it was just that one asshole anon.

The difference between "She likes pink now, we think she picked it up from her school," and "She's literally parroting views on gender-assigned colors to us" is huge. I have no idea how OP didn't recognize that you have to actually express the problem in order for people to understand the problem. Like, "I've found some bees in my house, it's a problem," is very different than "There is a hive in my fucking living room, it's a problem."

Yeah, definitely. It's going to be hard to get helpful advice if you don't make it clear what the problem actually is.
