05. Wait people sort only by kudos? I only ever sorted by recently updated/posted to see what was new, didn't know it wasn't a common thing either.

When I first get into a fandom, the first thing I do is sort by pairing and kudos. It's always worked really well for me. Sorting by kudos doesn't help you find the best fics, but it definitely helps you filter out the worst ones. And since I tend to stay in my fandoms for several years and read voraciously the whole time, I have no need to find all the best fics immediately. I'll find them soon enough; in the mean time I'd like to waste as little time as possible reading badfic.

No, yeah, I totally see what you mean and why people would rather go for the ones they already know are good! Disagree with op about it being a superior complex or whatever. I just never know about how it's common, but sounds obvious for the reasons you mentioned.
