If your supposed "reasons" are contradictory, then yeah, they probably aren't true.

"I would ship female characters but there aren't many and they're badly written" might well be true. But if you're writing your own works where you get to create your own female characters, meaning you can have as many of them as you'd like and write them the way you would like to see female characters written, but still only primarily write and ship male characters? Then no, you aren't actually interested in female characters, you're just saying you are, because there's absolutely nothing stopping you from writing and shipping the female characters you want to see in your own works.
