Why else would you be making excuses, then? It's not like liking m/m is some weird thing that gets people shamed. What's wrong with just saying "I like M/M"?

lol please. pick a fandom, any fandom, and i guarantee you that at least one of the most popular ships in it will be m/m.

And it will also have hordes of people whining and bitching about how it's terrible that it's popular, as well. There will be tons of people complaining that the only reason people could have for liking m/m is misogyny, lots of complaining about dumb fujos, etc. And in my experience, slash really isn't all that popular outside AO3.

... have you ever been to an anime or sci-fi convention? There's slash all over the place in the artist's alleys there. In fact, a lot of artists will specifically draw slash because it sells.
