While there are a few people who CAN'T distinguish reality versus fantasy, they often end up on the news or behind bars. But, most people aren't so stupid or immoral to harm people (or animals) to pursue their fetishes.

(Anonymous) 2008-12-24 02:58 am (UTC)(link)I roll my eyes at people who claim that, despite being turned on (in some cases) by the idea of children being raped/molested, they just know that they would NEVER do anything like that. No one knows themselves that certainly. I'm sure most criminals don't think of themselves as criminals before they commit their first crime. And I'm not saying that all people who like shota are pedophiles, but having children knowing you find the abuse of children sexy just seems like playing with fire to me, unless you get some serious in-depth therapy first.
