HARD Agree. I mean, I am not happy at the idea of the Watson character going off to someone else in most iterations, but in all iterations works a lot better than trying to put the Holmes character with anyone (especially with the Irene character that ALWAYS comes up)

I actually really like Irene Adler in the Jeremy Brett version. Other than that, I've not seen her character done well.

Probably because the other versions mostly chose to do something completely different than the canon. I like the original story and character, so the Brett version is my preference as well.

TBH I'm still mad about how Irene Adler was handled in BBC Sherlock. It was absolute garbage.

I thought the Irene Adler treatment in Elementary was good

But, obviously, it's not actually a take on the Irene Adler character lol

My issue rarely is with the Irene Adler character herself (Unless it's BBC Sherlock), but shoehorning her as the "one" woman Sherlock loves and that she's equally enamored. It never sits well with me.

This was definitely not the case in Elementary!
