What is this trend of putting relatively recent events in black and white pictures/video? Yes, 30 years is a long time, but if I see a celeb couple from 1990, I'm find it silly to watch an interview in black and white, especially if I can remember seeing that interview in color from back then.

Idk, maybe it's an artistic thing.

That seems extremely fucking silly.

Well, I was only seeing throwback photos on imgur from the 80s and 90s (fandom or no), and then recently Youtube started recommending videos from the 80s and 90s that are in black and white. It might be premature to call it a trend, but I'm definitely seeing it a lot.

I know that some people couldn't afford colour TV's into well after they became the norm, so some of these might come from recordings on a television that just didn't have colour. idk, I'm just guessing.

In the US, at least, black and white televisions were uncommon in the 90s. It is fairly unlikely that someone who did have a black and white television would have a VCR.
