I love TOS because so often when you try to explain the plot of an episode it sounds insane and you're like "But it's good, though!"

I had started streaming classic Hawaii Five-O as just a thing to have on in the background. I wasn't in the mood for Star Trek one day, went scrolling through the other four things on CBS All Access, and decided to give it a whirl. I've never seen it before but I don't really care enough to always pay much attention so it works as background noise. It's got a sort of bland ridiculousness to it that I need in my life right now (JUST A BLUR OF DUDES IN SUITS SOLVING CRIMES), so it's kind of become my happy place.

I decided to check out the new version, which just ended this year. I've only watched maybe the first half of the first season because while it is entertaining, it's missing that bland ridiculousness (it is ridiculous in it's own way, though). I had heard people shipped the two white dudes and I was like "Of course, *I'm* not going to shi... oops, damn." I also heard it ends in an unsatisfying way, but that just means I 'm not setting myself up for disappointment.
