Hello good person can I interest you either in the Fullmetal Alchemist manga or the FMA: Brotherhood anime

I feel like a lot of manga (especially the ones that last more than ten volumes) don’t always have good endings. Sometimes the mangakas set up these huge, impossible villains and the way the protagonist beats them doesn’t make sense. Other times, the established couple ends up having a falling out due to super silly circumstances and then they make up anyway, so what was the point of the conflict?

It sucks that the mangaka’s awful, but Rurouni Kenshin had a pretty decent ending despite lasting nearly thirty volumes.

Ugh. I didn't ever get to finish it (the anime, I was going to pick up the manga but I never did). And knowing what I know now I don't think I want to.

I did start reading Red River because I think the premise was a something of a blend between inuyasha and Kenshin, but it's been a decade at least so I can't recall.

I'm closely following two series just because of the onward march of impending doom. XD One of them I expect total satisfaction, and one of them I expect to be at least entertaining even if I just throw up my hands like "well fuck you too, author!"

Man I feel you there. There's nothing more disappointing than when a series you really love jumps the shark and just ruins all of your enjoyment in it. And then you get mad because it was so good up until that point, but now you hate it and you're angry because it could have been so good but the creators had to go and ruin it.

Ugh.

Yeah, understandable. I'm in the same boat where I'd rather hold up until the series ends to see if I'm willing to spend money on it, rather than letting myself be dragged to the hype of the moment. Too many bad experiences have soured me.

There ARE exceptions, of course, where I really like a character and would be willing to spend money on them alone, but that has happened too far and inbetween (and worse of all, when said character gets to shafted you don't even remember they existed).

This is me with a manga I've been following these past few months and it seems to have actually taken quite a dip in quality, since I'm not the only one who noticed and complained about it. My favourites are also dead/out of commission, so for now I'm only following spoilers because hope dies last, you know? It's lost a lot of charm for a lot of readers though and now only seems to rely on shock value/cliffhangers/twists. Pity.
