Heh, you know, I absolutely hated Vic right up until this past weekend. I saw him several times at Oni-con in Houston, and then had the chance to meet him... man, like him, hate him, member of his fanclub or not or WHATEVER, ya gotta admit he's got an endearing personality. I'm not too sure still how I feel about his talents, but I think he's a nice person, at least. Maybe it's because I don't know his crazy fangirls (dude, he was at the con, out in the open, and like NOBODY was following him at all; it was like he was just another con person or something!), but he was walking around talking to everyone, trying to keep spirits up... IDK, he's respectable.

Not trying to change your opinion, that's just my two cents. Just sayin'- I used to be a hater, but I'll happily eat my words now.

I always here two different stories about him. He seems really filled with spirit- and I never judge people until I meet them. :3 Maybe he'll drop by Otakon this year or next.

Although I admit it would feel awkward meeting him if my androgynous looking ass happened to be cosplaying Manga Ed >.>.

I do too. XD I'll admit that I heard he was homophobic, and that's where most of my anger stemmed from. But I think the jury is truly still out on that anyway- I gotta say, of all the professions to be into and be completely homophobic, voice acting for anime dubs has GOT to be a hard one, haha, what with all the yaoi/yuri. ;P Not saying it's impossible, but yeah, I hear mixed things about that, same as you.

Anyway, he's very nice, at least outwardly. *nods* I think the bad rap he gets is from his fangirls going batshit on people. It only takes a few insanely obsessed people telling you your opinion is wrong to bias your outlook, know? (LOL Twilight is a good example of this)

And I'm sure he'd be delighted to see you cosplaying as Ed. ;D

Yeah, he was a guest at my local con this year (NanDesuKan in Denver), and he was...well, the impression I got of him from audio commentaries and e-mailing him once or twice--very energetic and spazzy, enthusiastic about his work, and very friendly to his fans.

He's a conservative Christian and admits to disliking yaoi and yuri when asked, so I think that's where the homophobia stuff comes from--but, Chris Patton (who is openly bisexual) was also at the con and they didn't seem to have any issues with each other--heck, Chris even helped out at Vic's concert.

So, yeah, I think most of the hate stems from his religion (combined with him getting cast a lot recently). I do think he sometimes doesn't really phrase his opinions very well, but in general he's a nice guy.

...TL;DR, I agree.
