(Anonymous) 2020-10-07 05:57 am (UTC)(link)Canon is an established fact of a series. It is exactly why I prefer my OTP's not to be canon 99% of the time. Canon establishes limits and integrities the character are then expected to follow if only because that is who the character is, or is expected to be.
A character can be considered OCC in canon when the narrative is forced to imply or give a certain prerogative or interest which does not suit the core intention of the character themselves. (this is something that happens often in comics)
Regardless of which, canon is overwhelmingly /who/ that individual is. If said canon character doesn't fit with their significant other, then the due process is to
ignore/establish why that is.Otherwise you're talking true OC's. Characters you /WANT/ these people to be, ignorant as to who they are, but don't give enough of a fuck to care.
