Not horror but sci-fi, you might enjoy The Bionic Woman? Either the 1978 version or the 2007 adaption, depending on if you want something more modern.

Personally, Veronica Mars and Jessica Jones both feel like close cousins to BtVS, for me. But if it's the 90s vibes and supernatural elements you're into, then nah, Dark Angel'd be a better bet.

I'd say the show most like Buffy in style and tone from that era in the '90's would be Xena: The Warrior Princess. The show has a fantastic cast of main and supporting characters and every episode is a new quest to defeat evil and help those in need. Also Meg, Meg is awesome.

If you don't mind shows that are slightly more sci-fi than fantasy both Star Trek Voyager and Stargate SG-1 have the same sense of adventure, overcoming challenges, kick-ass women and light hearted humour that Buffy had.

And lastly, the show that I will always recommend as a light-hearted adventure show is The Avengers (Steed/Peel era from the 60's).

Two secret agents - an older English gentleman and his younger female partner - solve strange mysteries and defeat diabolical masterminds. He's full of charm and street smarts, she has the brightest mind and also knows kung fu. Together they are unbeatable.

This is a longshot on account that it's kind of an obscure series but I *love* The Vineart War books. I joke that it's 'Harry Potter for alcoholics and kinksters'. Anyway, are there are any other well written wizard-themed book series aimed at adults that anyone would recommend?

well, Lev Grossman's Magicians trilogy.

Also, some critics are really raving over Deadly Education the first book of Naomi Novik's new series.

You might like the "Sorcery and Cecilia" trilogy, if you like period pieces (it's set in the early 19th century and is a fun romp.)

Songs With a Very Specific Vibe

I'm looking for songs to listen to while I exercise that have a vibe of... 'I'm trying to improve myself even though it sucks'?
Playlist currently includes The Mountain Goats 'This Year', Bleachers 'I Wanna Get Better', Quiet Company 'We Should Go To Counseling', Mother Mother 'Body', The Struts 'Could've Been Me'... I guess that's about it.
I know some of those are more than a bit of a stretch but that's why I'm looking for recs!

I only know “This Year” and different songs from Mother Mother, so I don’t know if these fall in your general wheelhouse, but I like songs with similar themes and will look your list up!

First, thanks for mentioning I Wanna Get Better. I had fragments of that song stuck in my head for weeks but couldn't remember the title until I read it in your comment.
