OP here, wanted to clarify/add...

After rereading my secret, I realized that maybe it's a little confusing. In general, I enjoy media that focuses on strong friendship bonds vs. romances, whether the relationships in question are heterosexual or homosexual. There are many reasons for that, but the biggest reason is that so many TV shows/movies simply don't do romances well. There's no time for character development or relationship development to the extent that I'd like, and most often we're simply presented with two people, told that they're really attracted to one another and/or in love and that's it. I also dislike that so many non-romance plots feel like they need to shoehorn in a romance for Reasons, but it's not the main point so they really phone it in.

But I also realize it's a little disingenous because het romance doesn't get edited or censored out of Cdramas. (But I also dislike most handling of het romances in Cdramas, so I'd be just as happy if they were left out altogether or converted into friendship plots.)
