It's so easy to write a character with individual likes and interests who doesn't feel superior to other girls with different likes and interests too. You just don't throw in your own gross opinions about how shallow and awful you think most young women are.

Literally that easy.

I just think there are a LOT more queer people out there than realise it, it's just that a good chunk of them never even consider they might be anything but cis and straight.

So I guess people into slash might have a higher chance of actually thinking about it and possibly working it out? I'd say everyone I know who is into slash is queer but, like, practically everyone I know is queer.

I'm bi and when it comes to girls I'm attracted to girls of all races, whereas guys I'm only attracted to white guys. So I'm unlikely to ever write slash about anyone but white guys because that's who I find attractive. To be honest, I have a hard time caring about it.

Ugh, that writing is just awful. I suppose it'd be one thing if the "Logan" who "didn't even see the woman's face" because all she is to him is a pair of breasts is a character who's a sexist jerk, but he's probably not. It's highly likely he's the hero. I think that's what gets me most of all in books like these - it isn't just a realistic portrayal of how men think (though I don't believe that, either) it's that we're presented with this as if it's a good and normal way for a good guy to behave.
