Yeah, I feel like I would prioritize something like Habitat for Humanity if I was going to donate. Or even the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, if I specifically wanted to support the arts.

I do, but I consider it part of my entertainment budget, not my charity budget. If I donate about, say, the price of two hardcover books per year, that's a HUGE bargain to me because I get waayyyyyy more use out of it than that.

Also, people who donate are helping to subsidize people who want to but can't afford to, so there's that. AO3 has no paywalls or paid tiers or features you have to pay to unlock so it's fair for everyone.
