I understand a great many kinks, even tho they're not mine, but I do not get foot kink (and everything that includes bodily fluids, but I feel like those aren't as "mainstream"). If it's tagged in a fic, I will not click on it, even if my favorite author wrote it.
(Def on the YKINMK side tho. No judgement.)

I didn't understand foot kink and was viscerally grossed out by it until I got a decent massage. Definitely now understand it, at least from the standpoint of whoever is getting their feet worshiped. Having a certain nerve hit around the middle of the foot will send electricity all the way up the spine in a good or bad way, depending on pressure and skill.

I feel the same way, mostly because I have a foot squick. Seeing feet is an instant turn off. The mention of feet in a sex scene is an instant turn off. I just don't get it. Feet are ugly, smelly, and gross. What could possibly be sexy about feet? To each their own, and people can write what they write and like what they like. But instant backbutton for me.

I'm still pissed years later, though, that there was this one time on a kinkmeme where I asked for a femdom fic and mentioned foot kink as a DNW and yet the filler included it anyway and specifically mentioned in their notes that in their mind femdom always includes foot kink.

I don't think feet are sexy either, but you're cracking me up here. Normal feet are just about as ugly, smelly and gross as scrotes, and you're totally into scrota, IIRC.

I mean. Feet also aren't smelly if a person has showered, if we're taking "body parts of a person who comprehends basic hygiene and has recently indulged in it" as our standard.

Clearly not everyone thinks feet are ugly and gross and enough people think they're sexy for foot fetish to be a relatively common kink. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that if you surveyed 100 random people, feet would be considered aesthetically pleasing than scrotums by a solid majority.

Also, if you think that feet are universally smelly you might want to talk to your doctor, or at least switch to cotton socks.

I don't get it either. I think feet are ugly, they do nothing for me, and I think my feet are gross too. However, there was a guy at my old apartment complex who had a foot kink and his thing was "pampering and worshipping", and he gave the absolute best (and free) pedicures with foot massages that I have ever had. Dude was the fucking Michaelangelo of pedicures, and no salons I've been to since could compete. I miss that guy, lol.
