Re: Secrets you don't want to make...

I don't get following actors from project to project. I keep seeing people talk about how they've suffered through a show they didn't even like just because of that one actor and that is such an alien concept to me.
Yes, an actor might make me look up a movie/series of theirs, but if I don't like what I see, I sure as hell am not going to watch it.

I'd say it MIGHT have to do with being ace (mainly cause most of the comments I see go in the direction of: "But s/he's just so HOT!"), but I also don't buy books by authors I love just cause I loved their previous works. I always check if the book itself interests me.

I'd be lying if I said the "they're hot" clause wasn't a thing for me, because it totally is, but there are also actors who I just love seeing in work. They're good actors (to me) and I tend to enjoy the parts they play. Or I simply want to support them. Or they look like me, so I support them because I'd like to see myself.

For example, the lady who played Danaerys on GoT is very pretty, and I just like seeing her in things, so if she's in a project that sounds interesting to me, I'll watch it. I'm not on the "OMG SO HOT MARRY ME TRAIN" she's just pretty. Michelle Pfeiffer also fell under that for me, with the added bonus of being a good actress.

I enjoy Clive Owens and Ewan McGregor's acting, so I tend to follow their projects.

I find James McAvoy to fall under the good acting & good looks (and hot, to me) so I follow his projects too.
