Why can't you people be this passionate about things that actually matter? It's a cartoon you dumb fucks.

(Anonymous) 2020-10-17 03:03 am (UTC)(link)
I mean it's fandomsecrets. The whole point is to be passionate and riled up about things that don't matter.

That's a good burn. Even if it wasn't intended to be so.

Good job.

No. It's an anime. Anime is famous for problematic relationships. Like say Cardcaptor Sakura where the grade, what one?, child crushed on her adult teacher and they began a relationship.
Inuyasha itself has plenty of issues as well, with Miroku sexually assaulting Sango, (and whoever else he came across) along with an age gap, and blah blah blah.

ITC: A teenager who's too young to be on Fandom Secrets and whose brain would have exploded if they were around in the early 2000s and before, when the most popular and uncontroversial ships in fandom were adult man/teenage boy.

I'm 30 and you remember some different early 2000s than I do. I remember the early 2000s, where fandom was mostly in separate communities, so slash fans and het fans rarely interacted within the same space. And in the rare spaces, where they did interact, such as ff.net, slash fans had to warn for slash in the description of their fics, that's how controversial it was. I supposed if you never ventured outside of your shota-loving livejournal community, you may have had the impression that adult man/teenage boy pairing was uncontroversial in fandom as a whole, but this was never truly the case.

I'm 30. That was not the fandom of the early 2000s.
