Oh 100% I get that it worked for some people because it's just so soul-destroying when you see the sequence of the dog waiting for the rest of his life. I get it because there are pets I've had (now gone) where I would probably bite your hand off if you offered me a few more minutes with them.

But I do think it, maybe not lessened but unintentionally undermined the original ending of Jurassic Bark. Just personal preference of course.

Yeah, that's legit. I think there are just some instances in fiction where one sometimes feels like, "I'll take the worse story because the better story hurts too much."

It happens to me really rarely, because I tend to value good storytelling above all. But very occasionally there will be something where I'm like, nope, give me this shittier story that's happier.

But I totally respect that other people won't feel that way. I'm often the one going, "No, this is the most impactful ending, why would you want to ruin that!??"
