It's not limited to the trailer. I watched her story mode on Youtube (albeit without understanding Japanese), but the cringing, shrinking meekness is pretty much how it is through the whole thing. (Save for when she is actually in battle.)

TBH, my memories of FF VI is kinda hazy, since it's been years since I played the game. But yeah, I think I have a vague memory of Terra being a little bit more insecure before the world went under. So there might still be hope she'll turn out better...

By no means am I calling Dissidia a fail game, it's just the portrayal of a female character as meek and crouching behind the male characters that get to me.

I...seriously agree with that. Still, this is an old FF game with an old FF character--it irks me, but, as the women's movement in Japan is still pretty slow-going...>_
