For all I know she might have been referring to me since I did stop coddling her after some time. She really was masterful at what she did. I always suspected things, but I was so taken with her at the time that I just looked past it. And when my mum more or less forced me to rethink my friendship with her, I started seeing things differently. Until the other week, however, some part of me still thought there was some truth to our friendship ... unfortunately, now I know it was just her using someone like she had likely done before, and did after and will do again.
