Hmm, how's the writing?

Personally, while I welcome characters of a wide range of ethnicities, sexualities, backgrounds, etc. I DO prefer them to be played by attractive people. Because I have to look at them. The rest is up to the writers.

I'll take "unattractive but talented actor" over "model who doesn't understand what a facial expression other than a blank stare" is anytime.

Casting directors need to work harder then. Idk, almost all the actors I admire for their acting skills are also extremely good-looking, so it's clearly not either/or.

oh, I'm not implying it's either/or. I'm just saying I find talent more important than looks.

Sure. Knowing you, that tracks.

uhhhhhh, not sure if I should be flattered or insulted....

I mean... I like looking at attractive people but I don't feel like every single person on screen needs to be attractive at all times

(Anonymous) 2020-10-28 12:20 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, this. If I'm going to be watching characters on a screen for hours on end, I want them to be aesthetically pleasing. Because, you know, I'm looking at them for hours.

It's the same reason I can't get into animated stuff if I find the art style to be unattractive.

i'm not sure why this is a surprise? when it comes to visual mediums, people tend to want to look at things they think look nice.
