Okay, so I've no idea what general fandom might have claimed by this point, but if someone's trying to get me to watch a show, they usually only have to answer one question: is it genre?

This is because 90% of the shows I watch are some stripe of sci-fi/fantasy/supernatural, with the odd crime show once in a while. That is honestly my primary concern. Everything else in either of your lists are bonuses. I'd guess this is fairly common too, though again that could be because I've mostly been in genre fandoms.

Right! Fandom really blossoms around genre things with the right marketing/writing.

And no. This isn't genre. This is Teen Coming of Age Drama set at "fat camp." The show is called Huge (2010) by ABC Family and I just you know, can't think of anything about it that would GRAB at fandom. Except for AUs, not set at Fat Camp. Sorry, "Camp Victory."
