I think ATLA and Korra are classic examples of writers who really don't know what the fuck they're doing with primary-character relationships and love triangles.

Are Zutarans guilty of overstating how two people who were trying to kill each other for the majority of the series were obviously endgame? Hell yeah.

Did the writers confuse the issue with an underdeveloped love triangle and jealousy conflict that got shoehorned into an abbreviated final season that had way too many dangling plot threads? Hell yeah.
