My cat is absolutely freaking out right now because it's windy out and the trees are raining leaves like crazy! It's the absolute cutest thing! <33

Heee! Oh, that's fun. I took the cats outside a couple weeks ago when the leaves were just starting, and when a sudden wind-gust came up and leaves rained down, old, fat, lazy Jack turned into a kitten, darting and dashing all over. So cute!

My fluffy-cat likes to climb up under the covers and sleep, so I have a funny little cat-lump on the bed sometimes.

My dog pets me and "talks" to me when I'm really upset. (She makes these little oooooo sounds and is so adorable that I simply can't, lol.)

My dog likes to scream at me while holding a ball in her mouth. You'll see her little barrel chest heave up with air and "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA--" Okay, okay, I get it, it's time to play!!

My dog purrs. Not exactly like a cat. He's huge so it's this really deep grumbly noise. It scares other people sometimes because they think it's a bad noise and I have to explain that's his happy noise. If he finds a sunny spot to sit or gets his ears rubbed, he dog-purrs.

Whenever I have a book or my phone in my hand, my dog likes to nudge it away with his nose so I will pay attention to him and pet him.

When my cat gets really energized, she'll just start running through the house with a war cry. It is adorable.

My cat loves to sun herself in the office window. She likes to get her whole body sunned, and she'll spend a while with her belly pressed up against the glass so her belly too gets sun, and its so cute.

She likes having her whiskers brushed after she eats.

She likes to make play more difficult for herself, so she likes to do it on top of things she can climb on and around like a little acrobat. this is what earned her the nickname Squirmy.

She's not a lap cat, but she does need to be near a human most of the time, unless she's out on the porch. She'll whine when there is not a human in the same room with her.

She's a picky eater who only eats seafood. Tuna is her preferred food, but she'll eat other fishes. but nothing else. No chicken or meat even if she's super hungry.

My dog will only eat chips if there's dip on them. He's the pickiest dog I've ever owned, if you toss him a chip without dip he might eat it but if you try to give him one right after that he'll refuse it, like he just realized you dared to give him a chip with no dip on it. He also only eats certain varieties of yogurt and will refuse the brands he doesn't like.

One of his favorite things to do is roll in towels. On Sundays we wash the towels and my parents will throw theirs into the hallway after showering along with the sheets, so then after my shower I can gather everything up to wash. My dog loves waiting until the damp towels are on the floor and then he'll start happily rolling around in them to his heart's content.

Sometimes my dog howls with a toy in his mouth. Also whenever I dress up and go outside, he gets hyper and starts running around. Then he waits for me to say 'let's go'.

My baby boy (cat) shoves himself into my arms when I'm asleep. It's so cute. He wakes me up every time but I don't even remotely mind. Oh yeah! He also chases his tail.

When I play video games or grade papers, my bunny likes to come very close to the electrical wires and wait for me to notice. Then he stops and waits for me to pet him. If I don't, he tries to chew the wires.

Was over at a friends as a teen. Her father had sown new lawn and put a net over it so the birds couldn't get to the seeds, but we didn't understand that at the time.

Friend: Wonder what the net's for.
Me, without thinking: So the snails won't jump as high.

Had to get some x-rays taken as a teen for a surgery and the nurse asked me if I was certain there was no chance I was pregnant. I told her 'if I am, we're gonna need to start a religion.'

- Like a werewolf, Yu-Gi-OH! bit me and turned me into a nerd.
- Spyro began a 20 year obsession with soundtracks.
- Hercules: The Legendary Journeys gave me both a bondage fetish and an acute appreciation for male breasts. *shrugs*
- James Spader is the reason I cannot have a normal relationship because I expect men to be as weird as he is and am always so very disappointed when they are not.
- The first time I ever fucked up in life was trading a Charizard for a Vulpix so thanks for that valuable lesson, Pokemon.

A few years ago I watched some Youtuber's analysis of Cinderella. I think it was talking about the Branagh movie, maybe comparing it to the Disney cartoon? Don't remember. Anyway, they mentioned how Cinderella isn't a wimp, or stupid or helpless, but that her strength is in her kindness. That she chooses to be kind even though she is in a bad place and people abuse her, even though she has every right to be hard-hearted.

I'd always been nice, generally speaking, but I never made a conscious choice about it. It just was what I was like. After watching that video though, I made the choice to be kind.

I'm not sure if it objectively made me nicer, but I'm more deliberate in my kindness. I consciously try to be kind in situations where before I might have not put much thought into how to act, but I'm also not as mindlessly nice anymore to anyone without regard for myself. Kindness is something I choose to give, and if I start to unravel from stretching myself thin, or if I get the impression someone is abusing their privilege, I tone it down.

Affected me most? Probably Stand By Me.

I don't think anything fictional changed me as a person. I've changed some habits due to documentary series on waste and unsustainable farming.

I was already on the fence about the death penalty, primarily because I had learned about how my state was the first in the US to outlaw it after the hanging of a man who turned out to be innocent after the fact, but I read Victor Hugo's "The Last Day of a Condemned Man" and came away from it firmly opposed. It's a fairly transparent attempt to make an emotional, not practical, plea by building empathy for the experience of waiting to be executed, and I knew that going in, but it worked dammit.

I usually come on down to the GC threads or comment on the actual secrets, but between this and lurking on reddit occasionally, I don't really know where to hang out online anymore. Where do people do fandom?/ Find challenges for fic? Do anything?
