I think this is something evident of tropes regarding minority groups in general. Most existing tropes are reflective of some bad stereotypes. There are a few that are more positive, but they have to fight with all the history of negatives. Of course, looking at the list there are some fairly neutral tropes that have appeared (like the one about the grooms wearing white). Maybe just start making a shitton of pages for LGBT works/works with LGBT characters, and they'll gradually have to add neutral ones.

(Ones I personally like are Camp Straight - because of the subversion - and LGBT Fanbase/Fanyay - because it helps me know about the work and reactions to it).

That's my current best plan, yeah. And hopefully this, combined with the "tvtropes as a gateway drug" effect, will make it easier for people to find the not-yet-documented tropes in queer media.

I don't have high hopes for this plan, either, but they're higher than the hopes for the thread.
