So, this thread's definitely doomed.

Not because the site culture is bigoted and backwards like some people like to believe. (It's far from perfect, but they're *trying*.)
(Though, yes, there is a group of TLP lurkers that just downvote every queer-related draft without exception. Fuck those users in particular. But the people who actually talk are nice.)

It's because people don't *want* LGBT tropes. They want "list of good LGBT representation". And good representation, by definition, avoids being tropey.

One of the cuts people are complaining *most* about was a trope literally defined as "character is bi, but it's not important to anything"!

I can understand it being a talking point from the POV that female nudity is virtually expected and male actors are hardly ever expected to bare all to that extent. You're usually gonna get a bum shot if anything.

BUT at the same time, apparently it wasn't even his anyway.

Their Eyes Were Watching God is one of my favorite books, so I’m strangely excited to see a secret about it. I love the book because I enjoy Janie’s journey, but I can see why people view her relationship with Tea Cake as romantic because, compared to the other two guys, it was the most romantic relationship Janie had.
