also, going by the people themselves, kittan fangirls i know are generally really laid back, awesome people, while the kamina fangirls i know are all oversensitive and bitchy(and possibly just got out of depression because he "saved their life," lol fandomsecrets.).

it depends though-- its hit and miss with simon. most of them are pretty awesome though, but again some just use him as a fandom slut. i swear after timeskip all the kamina/simon fans immediately started drooling over simon/viral.

Well, to be fair, I don't ship Simon/Viral at all but even I thought the naked prison fight and the scene where they're getting RIGHT INTO EACH OTHER'S PERSONAL SPACE and talking about PILOTING GURREN LAGANN were pretty fucking gay.

complaints are pretty much directed at the /y/-goers that ship it, because one time for fun I posted something like "viral is a waste of space" in a viral thread and that post got ATTACKED. and it was great.

What about the Yoko fans? Most of the male ones seem to be guys who are convinced that she's their girlfriend, but that's nothing new in anime fandom.

She has some pretty cool female fans though. Nice people etc. She got some pretty sweet character development toward the end, and I hear there's more in the movie.

Yeah, that's my experience. With the exception of the inevitable handful of girls who glom onto every "strong / fighting" female character just because she has a gun, most of her female fans are pretty cool.

they're generally the, as one might say, "in it for the lols" people in fandom who don't take shit too seriously. there is also a 64% chance that any given female adiane fan is attracted to women (or she is the one woman they are attracted to).

Actually, I'm a Rossiu fan (even if I shame you for it, sorry~ I can't help admiring his realism). I don't like Kamina very much. It's just the fact that everything I see Kittan do is a knock-off move of Kamina. From taking over the Dai-Gurren-dan to falling in love with Yoko, to his manner of death.

And with my friends, it's the exact opposite. Kamina fans are laid back and amusing, even though one of them was a "Kamina saved my life" person. It's the Kittan fans that get all up in arms and bitchy about people saying they dislike him.

And all the Viral fans I know are against Yaoi, lol. XD We come from way different sides of the tracks XD

(The best fans I met are the Simon fans, or beamspam mcmuppet fans XD They're freakin~ awesome~)
