Well, I got 3 hours of sleep and have a splitting headache. But on the other hand, I'm currently listening to reggae music on Youtube while my kitty is sitting on top of my foot. So I'm starting to relax, and I think the pain meds are starting to kick in.

Also, the list of foods that are migraine triggers for me is growing longer. Now nuts are out. It is frustrating.

Despite having seen maybe three episodes of SPN and enjoying exactly one of them, I've become weirdly obsessed in the wake of the whole Destiel thing??

I don't know what's going on with my brain, but I guess I just needed Something in these trying times and this was it.

I accidentally blew my day on writing 3,000 words of a story. Took a break, reread it, realised I hated the whole damn thing. What a waste of a day.

Not bad! I had a nice weekend, I found a new tea shop just down the street from my house that has incredible iced rose tea. This morning after my run, I weighed myself and I've lost 17 pounds since beginning a new exercise regimen on September 1st, so I'm at about the halfway point of my weight loss goal. I'm glad at the election results and things are, for now at least, good.

I was so tired this morning, I walked out of the house in slippers on the way to work. Still waiting on fridge to deliver. And the tree guy can't come out for two weeks. :(

I commented on a youtube video I really liked and the person who posted it responded to every comment. Except mine. This pisses me off more than it should but it's probably a somewhat misdirected response to covid isolation.

I am so fat from overeating tonight and I'm watching The West Wing on Netflix and laughing at all the Republican Facebook users that are leaving Facebook (and other social media and Amazon as well) to join Parler and MeWe.

A little tired and falling behind on my yoga but I FINALLY FINISHED THAT DAMN EPILOGUE

I only hope folks don't hate it too much, especially since I made them wait a year for it :/

I'm lying on the floor and I'm not sure if I can be bothered getting up. The floor isn't the most comfortable place ever, but it's okay. I was lying on the couch, but I rolled off. And now I'm on the floor.
Also my stomach hurts and I feel bad for not making my exercise goal today. And not taking all my meds. Which might have something to do with why I'm so flat, but it's way too late in the day for taking ritalin.
I know it would do me good to be around other people, but I'd have to drive myself and I do not trust myself right now.

... It'd be easier to get off the floor if I didn't have my phone to entertain me.

Underrated and overrated musicians

What are some singers or music groups that you think are either overrated and not all that great or overrated and should be more known and popular than they are?

I have no idea how popular Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, but I think everyone should listen to her music.

I find almost every currently popular singer overrated. A lot of them also sound the same to me.

For me Ariana Grande is overrated. She is one of the very few musicians for whom I only like a single song for (Rain on Me, the one she did with Lady Gaga). Other than that one, I don't like any of her stuff.

I've been really getting into Jess Glynn. She has such a pretty voice and does really nice songs. She is getting more known, but I wish she was a bigger name because she deserves it.

And I'm really happy that AJR finally has a song that is playing on the radio, but I'd like them to be even more known because all their stuff is good.

Wind Rose is a really fun heavy metal/power metal group that should be more popular.

And also Blind Guardian who are somewhat known but should be more known because their sound is amazing.

Underrated: Gary Numan and Thomas Dolby. Zeal & Ardor may have started out as a heavy metal gimmick band but are dishing up some amazing work this fall.

I want to just... desperately push Woodkid into everyone's lives. He's incredible! His music styling is so unique and his voice is wonderful, and holy fuck his most recent album is full of so much aching emotion. I can't stop listening to it.

Underrated: Mark Lanegan, Lambchop, Aldous Harding, Young Fathers

I can't think of any overrated artist at the moment. Underrated on the other hand:

Diablo Swing Orchestra blends big band swing, latin, progressive and metal. Labeled as "Avant Garde" metal. I'd recommend Tapdancers dilemma of Exit strategy of a wrecking ball. Their titles are pretty fun, like "Speed dating an arsonist" on their soon to be released next album.

Trepalium is a french metal band that blends in Groove/swing into their sound. Harsh vocals, though. Moonshine Limbo and From the Grund are recommended tracks.
