105. I FEEL THE EXACT SAME WAY. Granted, I'm a fast reader compared to a lot of my peers, but still. Like you said, I know people who are dyslexic and prefer subs. It can't be THAT hard to follow subs. Besides, there's this lovely little invention called the PAUSE BUTTON. WOW WHAT A CONCEPT. [/sarcasm]

117. I feel rather similar, tbh. I kind of felt sometimes that Susan got the short end of the stick, but the denial of Narnia rather justifies it.

137. OH HOW I FEEL THE SAME WAY. I always thought that the games got better on each handheld platform (while the quality varied on the consoles; I blame games like Hey You Pikachu and Pokemon Channel for trying to turn the consoles into toys ~_~) and loved each subsequent installment (though I have yet to play Diamond or Pearl *sigh*).

I watch subs, but I read fast.

True, but it works. Heck even I use it sometimes when the characters talk REALLY REALLY FAST. @.@ I read quickly, but not that quickly! XD

Yeah, that makes sense.

I used to do it when I was watching Ouran fansubs because they'd have cultural references and stuff like that which I'd have to pause to read.

PS: Your icon - that's because of the casting of the new movie right? I should catch up with Avatar.

Yeah, cultural stuff also causes me to pause as well. They're one of the main reasons I know so much about Japan. XD Although books help, too. ^^-

And yeah, it is about the Avatar casting BS. Honestly, I would love to bitch slap the idiot in charge of casting. There's a reason there's a letter writing campaign started at

aang_aint_white so that we can let our voice be heard. Although we've gotten a lot of returned letters and that rather concerns me.

I probably made a mistake by playing Diamond and Pearl before Ruby and Sapphire, because I lost all interest in the 3rd-gen games. I do liek Mudkips, though.

Haha, that's probably the reason then. But yeah, every generation of Pokemon has it's good points, I think. Mudkips are too cute to not liek! <3

I enjoy both subs and dubs, but...pausing, seriously? I had to do that once for Pani Poni Dash's cultural notes extra, and it *sucked*. I wasn't able to follow what was actually going on in the episode all that well. I can't imagine trying to do that when it was the first time I was watching an episode.

Thing is, why should people feel obligated to do that when they're watching anime for their own enjoyment, anyway? If they enjoy dubs more, no matter their further reasoning, their argument can and should consist of "I enjoy dubs more" and be left at that.

I didn't say they had to feel obligated. I was just offering suggestions, tbh. And I'm fine with most dubs myself (as long as it's not Cardcaptor'd or by $KIDS, I'm good). And tbqh, I actually prefer some dubs over the Japanese version (Trigun comes to mind for that one first). I didn't say everyone had to watch subs. I was just verifying that the argument the OP was talking about is BS.

Japanese is not the holy grail of languages. As a language, English is far more flexible and has a lot more words. If someone wants to prefer the dub? They can prefer the dub. I really can't imagine any enjoyment in sitting there pausing every few minutes because I can't keep up with subs.

Dubs/subs? Completely personal choice. Japanese does not mean it's automatically better.

FOR THE LOVE OF TOPHGOD, WHEN DID I SAY JAPANESE WAS AUTOMATICALLY THE GREATEST LANGUAGE ON EARTH AND EVERYONE SHOULD WATCH SUBS? WTF?!

I didn't say that someone couldn't prefer the dub, I was just agreeing that the excuse the OP mentioned was BS. It's one thing to prefer dubs simply because you prefer dubs. It's another to say "I'm too lazy" because I don't appreciate laziness in anything. Hence why seeing the term "TL;DR" ticks me off (especially in debates), because it tells me you don't give a shit about what someone is saying.

And while we're on the topic, there are some dubs that I adore to death and thought they were well done. FLCL and Trigun come to mind quickly for that one. So don't be saying I can't appreciate dubs because I do as that's how I got most of my anime for many years until I got decent internet.
